Digital transformation is more than tools or platforms. It is the intentional alignment of technology, experience, and governance to support how people learn, teach, work, and engage with the university.
This project focuses on building a digital foundation that is scalable, secure, and adaptable, while ensuring that the user experience remains clear, inclusive, and aligned with organizational purpose. This approach recognizes that sustainable transformation requires both strong systems and thoughtful design.
An Integrated Approach
Digital transformation is treated as a connected ecosystem rather than a collection of isolated projects. Decisions at the infrastructure level directly influence content strategy, usability, accessibility, and long-term maintainability.
This work brings together:
Platform and infrastructure modernization
Web experience and interface design
Content models and governance
Alignment with institutional vision and priorities
Each layer is designed to support the others, enabling change over time without repeated disruption.
Web Platform & Infrastructure
A modern digital experience depends on a reliable and secure technical foundation. Current efforts focus on upgrading and standardizing the web server environment to support modern CMS platforms, improved performance, and stronger security posture.
Infrastructure modernization is approached as an enabler, not an end in itself—creating the conditions required for scalable content delivery, system integration, and future platform migration.
Web Experience & Redesign
In parallel with infrastructure work, the web presence is being re-imagined to better serve diverse audiences through a modern UX/UI approach. This includes clearer information architecture, improved wayfinding, and the introduction of audience-aware navigation patterns.
The redesign effort prioritizes accessibility, consistency, and clarity, ensuring the website functions as a welcoming and intuitive entry point for prospective students, current learners, faculty, staff, and community partners.
Vision & Principles
This work is guided by the broader institutional vision of the university as a BC interior university with global reach, grounded in access, community connection, and learner-centred values.
The digital direction aligns with the vision articulated by the project team, ensuring that digital platforms support academic mission, regional responsibility, and long-term sustainability.
Looking Ahead
Digital transformation is an ongoing process. The focus remains on building flexible systems, clear governance, and meaningful user experiences that can evolve as institutional needs change—without losing coherence, trust, or purpose.
